SPARK at Stanford has been chosen as one of the four finalists in the Ecosystem Development category of the 2020 National Xconomy Awards.

The awards are given out each year to celebrate the best in biotech innovation and entrepreneurship. The 2020 National Xconomy Awards honors the top individuals, companies, and organizations that make the country’s life sciences ecosystem the most vibrant and innovative in the world. Xconomy has been presenting annual awards since 2017 to provide the biotech community a moment to pause, recognize, and honor the very best the life sciences has to offer.

SPARK was selected from over 600 nominees in 11 categories to be a finalist for Ecosystem Development.

The Ecosystem Development category honors a regional agency, organization, individual, or company that has shown exceptional resourcefulness and accomplishment generating a local environment in which the life science community thrives. Nominees are groups that have contributed to creating a biotech hub or helped build up a region’s life sciences credentials. Other finalists for Ecosystem Development are California Institute for Regenerative Medicine, Deerfield Management Company and Petri.

Starting on Sept. 8, Xconomy will present Meet the Finalists, in which daily webcasts will feature Managing Editor Dan Stanton sitting down for a conversation with each nominee. SPARK is excited to participate in the event and present our successful model!

Winners for the 11 categories will be announced during an online celebration on Thursday, Sept. 24.
