Another story of a former SPARKee who became an entrepreneur: Dr. Hanadie Yousef

A former SPARKee Dr. Hanadie Yousef transitioned out of Wyss-Coray lab and full-time to her startup, Juvena Therapeutics.
Since, she and her co-founder, Dr. Jeremy O’Connell, a proteomics expert who also transitioned from a Staff Scientist position at Stanford to full time at Juvena, made tremendous progress and built a discovery platform with a pipeline of pro-regenerative proteins in early-stage pre-clinical development and now have a team of 9 scientists and researchers.

This is a quote from her communication with Drs. Daria Mochly-Rosen and Kevin Grimes, our directors of SPARK.
“I am extremely grateful and indebted to SPARK for teaching me so much about translational research and preparing me for this pursuit in a way that a postdoc alone could not do. It’s an amazing program that I hope to support and continue to utilize as Juvena grows and translates our discoveries to the clinic. Your book, A practical guide to drug development in academia, The SPARK approach, continues to be one of my favorites and a blueprint for us.”

Best wishes to Juvena and we hope many more of this to come out of SPARK.
